FIVE MINUTES WITH JORDAN GREEN

Jordan Green is a well renowned fashion and lifestyle photographer hailing from Wakefield, Yorkshire.
Being one of the busiest people in the UK, with a previous client list boasting names such as Cheryl Cole (for Lo'real Paris), Bacardi, Hypebeast and Sony Records amongst others, we decided it would be rude not to invite him around to our new store in Princes Square for a cup of tea (Yorkshire) and a chat as he passed through Glasgow whilst on tour with the band PVRIS.

TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF AND WHAT MADE YOU PICK UP A CAMERA?
Hey, I am Jordan Green. I guess I'm a fashion and lifestyle photographer. I first picked up a camera because I got bored of painting and I was kinda doing graphic design at the time and I got bored of trying to find images on the internet so I decided to just take them myself.
WHAT INFLUENCES YOU IN PARTICULAR
I think the thing that influences me the most, honestly is my friends and my peers. Everyone that I hang around with and all my friends are all creative and we all just bounce off each other and we share ideas and we share what everyones working on together and that makes my style grow and expand, it also helps my friends out.
HOW DID YOU END UP IN LONDON?
I kinda knew that I needed to be in London, being a photographer. Being from a small city just outside of Leeds, I'm not gonna lie, there's not a lot going on and I had to…Basically I just wanted more in life and I knew that Leeds didn't fully do that for me. So the move to London, I think I just needed to do it, theres more people. I'm a city guy, I need to see people every day that I've never met before which keeps the brain going and the creative juices flowing.
WHATS LINED UP FOR THE REST OF 2016?
2016 so far has been crazy busy and I mean hopefully the rest of 2016 will be just as busy, but I'm freelance so who knows. I have a couple of travel jobs coming up, I leave for LA in a couple of weeks time, San Francisco, probably hit up New York again because I absolutely love that city and I guess I'll be shooting a bunch of Autumn Winter campaigns just after summer.
YOU TRAVEL A LOT, WHERE REALLY FEELS LIKE HOME?
As cheesy as this sounds, home could be anywhere where I feel comfortable, anywhere that I'm with people that I enjoy spending time with and somewhere I can get a good coffee, a good flat white.
WHATS YOUR FAVOURITE PIECE FROM THE STORE?
My favourite piece is actually the Brighton sweat, it's and simple, it goes with my aesthetic. It's a nice spring summer look.
AS FAR AS SOCIAL MEDIA GOES, HOW DO YOU FEEL INSTAGRAM HAS AFFECTED YOUR BUSINESS?
One Hundred Million percent, Instagram is a big big deal, even your mum uses instagram, you know what I mean? Like it's now an everyday thing that people have to use every day and now instead of, in my case ringing up a big scary office in london or ringing up an agency to try and get them to hire me for a job, trying to convince them to let me shoot for them. Now I just put all my work on my phone and post it on the internet and everyone in the world can see it, that means all these people from agencies, all these potential clients can see it so so easily. Literally puts me in their hand and that's pretty fantastic for what I do.
